Garden

Well I bought me a Fig tree and got it planted. and I planted my Tomatoes, Peppers and Eggplants today!!

I am planning on getting my squash and other seeds planted too!!
I plan this year to get some of the smaller herbs like Thyme, Marjoram and savory in pots to grow. I seem to lose them in the bigger garden because the weeds take over too much.

Knitting

I got Kaylee's Alligator Scarf done!!

Neon Yellow is her favorite color. I have some gardening and house cleaning to do today. Too much to do and not enough time in a day!!
I am also working on a baby afghan for my friend. She is going to have a grand-baby!!

I am using a baby yarn with a gold thread. so it will have gold sparkles all through it.

I finished Michael's afghan too!!

You all have a great day!!
God Bless You!!

I am working on a Granny Square Afghan for my Nephew for his wedding.
And I am also working on another Alligator scarf for my Granddaughter. She asked for one in Neon Yellow.

I just love how the alligator starts forming as you knit!!
Have a great day!!

A new recipe that my family really likes!!

Chicken Taco Soup

ingredients:
  • 2 leftover Roasted Chickens and Broth
  • 1 Medium Onion diced
  • 2 Cans Black Beans (one can be a tri bean blend)
  • 1 bag frozen Corn
  • 1 Can Green Beans
  • 1 can Rotel’
  • 1 package Ranch Dressing
  • 1 package Taco Seasoning
I roast my chickens with Parsley, Garlic Powder, Sage, Marjoram, Thyme, and onion flakes. I put a Chicken Bouillon Cube in the water with the chicken. I mention this because these herbs will be in the soup through the broth.  I save the broth and leftover chicken and freeze it for later to make soup.  I also look in my refrigerator and find leftover vegetables and add them to the soup too. I take the broth from the 2 chickens and I boil it down some to make the flavors stronger. Then I put all the ingredients in the crock pot and put it on high or medium (4-5 hours).

Ok.. Well it has been a long time since I have posted. I have been busy making socks. Most of my socks either got holes in them or they shrank. I have decided the Blueberry Waffle socks are the best as I haven't had any problem with them and fit. The lace socks just get too tight on my legs.

My poor pomegranate bush didn't make it. I guess I will need to order another and try again. My rhubarb again didn't make it either. We haven't gotten tomatoes this year., and now I have some winter greens growing in the garden. It has been a rough garden year.

Have a great day!!
God Bless You!!

I have some garden pictures to share!! They are here: Garden!
I Planted a pomegranate bush and a Honey Berry bush today!
I really hope the Honey Berry does ok. It came in the mail and the Mail didn't treat it very nicely.
This picture is my Pomegranate bush.

I have lettuce ready to cut and I have Kale going to seed. I plan on saving the seeds for this fall. We can grow greens well here through the fall and some in the winter. I haven't attempted doing it in the fall but this year I plan to.
There is always so much to do and so little time to do it. We are supposed to have storms again tonight and tomorrow.
Have a great day!!
God Bless you!!
