I picked up my Log Cabin afghan again and have been knitting on it. I'm trying to use up some acrylic stash that I inherited from my mom. I also finished these Diamond Waffle socks. I put them in the drawer for next Christmas.

I hope to also get to working on my Icarus Shawl too. I need to get it done since I have been having it in hibernation for too long.

Have a great day!!
God Bless You!!

I've always loved the Log Cabin pattern. It lends a sense of tranquility.

Socks look great. Pattern on Ravelry?

I found the pattern on Ravelry but it is in Knitty. You can get a link from Ravelry though.

I love the Log Cabin blanket & the Diamond Waffle Socks. Question about the socks, the pattern says,
"TOE
Using the Lighter Circular Beginning, CO 9 sts. Place 5 sts on one needle and 4 on another, and k 1 round. Pull yarn tail to draw sts together."

Did you knit these toe-up? I've never seen or heard of this method.

Yes I did knit them toe up but I didn't start with the toe in the pattern. I cast on in figure 8 method and put 14 sts on each needle. I like a more rounded toe on the socks that I make. I also substituted my favorite heel for the heels on the socks. You can see my method in my own patterns on the side bar.
