Cooking
Well Thanksgiving is over and we just ate the last of the leftover turkey this morning in omelets.
The leftovers that I made with the turkey were a casserole with chunks of turkey in the bottom with Cream of Chicken soup on that then some grated cheese some garlic powder and then the leftover stuffing on top. Put it in the oven till it's bubbly and enjoy.
Then I took some more leftover turkey the next day and made stir fry with it. Then this morning there was about a cup of the stir fry left so I made omelets with it. So now the Turkey is finally all gone!
Have a great day!!
God Bless You!!

Ornaments
Hi!!
I started a new project. My husbands family makes each other Christmas Ornaments or Decorations for Christmas instead of presents. Here is my Ornament that I am making for this year. I will have to make several of them but this is my very first one. I used some wire that my husband had out in his shop to make the little hanger. It is a neat little way to use some scraps of yarn too. I bet this little sweater will also fit a Barbie doll. I used Worsted Weight yarn and size 4 needles. They are knit in the round from the top down. Since I want to make me some top down sweaters, this gives me a little practice before starting. I found the pattern on the internet. I first saw them in Ravelry. But I don't know what web page the pattern was on. I copied and pasted it in my personal patterns folder on my computer.
Here is a picture of my first completed Stole for one of my daughters.
Have a great day!!

Stole
Hi!!
I got one stole done. I am making 2 adult ones and 2 child ones. So now I have one adult and 2 child ones to do. I also want to make some socks for Christmas presents. I hope I have the time. The Stoles go pretty fast on size 10 needles. The Adult stole took a little over 7 balls of Moda dea dream furry yarn. I have way too much as I had ordered about 60 balls. So I guess I will have to find many other projects to do with them. They may make cute little stuffed animals for the grandkids. Or I can make stoles for others. I will figure out something. My mind also keeps going to the hodgepodge loads of yarn that I inherited from my mom. There are lots of colors but most of it is just acrylic yarn. I really need to get the stash down somehow. I also got my yarn for making a couple of sweaters for me for Christmas. I got Dk weight yarn and got some gold thread to knit with it so that it will look a bit dressy. But I won't get to start them till after Christmas. I have lots of sock yarn too. I just don't know which yarn to use for each person's socks. I made a pair for my son in law and now he wants more. Grandchildren want more too. Wow so many socks to make and so little time. Well I've rambled on this morning.
Have a great day!!
God Bless You!!

Cotton
Anyway, living here in the south we have cotton fields. They have harvested the cotton and had big bales along the sides of the fields. The bales are as big as a semi trailer, or at least they look that big. Anyway after they take those big bales away it leaves a bit of cotton behind. So me and my husband stopped and picked up some of the leftover cotton to play with. It has the seeds and stuff in it and it is kind of dirty. But it will be fun to play with to see what we can do with it.

I made this Peanut butter pie for tomorrows dinner. It looks like it is going to be great. I tasted the filling and it tastes just too good. I thought I would share it with everyone. It doesn't take very long to make.

Knitting, Needles
My Hiyahiya needles came in. I had ordered the sizes that I didn't have, even to tiny. I didn't realize how tiny. The smallest was 0.7 mm It looks like a very thin needle. Wow. I don't even know what people make with these. Maybe little socks out of thread? Or very small doll clothes out of thread? They look like they may break easily because they are so thin. Anyway the other sizes are 1.o mm, 1.2 mm and 1.75 mm. I got 60" length on all of them. They really look wild.
Anyway I will look for projects to use all of them on just for the challenge of it.
Have a great day!!

Yarn
I just found out that the Lion Brand Chenille yarn is not recommended for knitting but is recommended for crocheting. So now I guess I need to find something to crochet with it. Now that I've made a sweater with it if I frog it I will probably have enough for a blanket. I at first bought it on a sale at Wal-Mart but then I couldn't find any more so I went to the Lion Brand web page and ordered enough of the color for the sweater. In the end I think I paid about $50 to $75 dollars to make this sweater that isn't working. So after spending that much it is a real let down to have to frog it. I'm not going to toss it after spending that much. The more I think about it I think I will crochet some kind of blanket. The yarn does feel really soft and plush.
Have a great day!!

Lion Bran Chenille
I made a nice sweater out of the Lion Brand Chenille Yarn. Well when I washed and dried it, it became very loopy. The yarn stretched or something and made loops all through it. Now I think I should frog it and make something else with the yarn. It felt very soft and good but it looks terrible so I don't wear it. I don't even know what I could make with the yarn. If I made a blanket then it would probably do the same thing. I just can't figure out what this yarn would be good for. Hmmm
Have a great day!!

Needles!
Ok, I couldn't resist. I went to looking at the Hiyahiya needles in The Knitting Zone. And there they were sizes 0000, 000, 00 with 60 inch cables! I couldn't believe it! So I bought them. Now how am I going to fit them in my knit picks options case it is bursting at the seams now. Well I guess I could try the two pairs at a time again on 60 inch cables! I am really excited about this find.
Have a great day!!

Heel
Here I am ready to start shaping the heels by picking up my stitches from the holders and adding the purl bump from the next stitch to each stitch. I make my heels like the alternative heels in the book Crazy toes and heels.
Here I am starting to pick up and shape the heels.
I did have some problems. One of my stitch holders came open and all the stitches came off. So I tried picking them up again. I am not good at picking up stitches. I hate frogging back because of that too. So I picked them up as best as I could and went on to work in the mess that I have here. It did work out ok and you can't really tell that the mess was there.
I took some closeups so you can see what I did.
Here are the heels all turned. I like doing them this way I think because I have a bit of a fear of losing stitches while trying to get them on different needles to do them separately. As I said I don't pick up stitches very well.
So now I am to the easy part of knitting up the leg of the socks. The experiment was a success and the challenge met. I can do it. But I think I will stick to doing two socks at a time at least until they come up with size 0 or 1 needles with extra long chords. I had to do a lot of scooting to keep the socks from slipping off and I had to do a lot of untangling of the yarn. I will post more pictures as I go to finishing up this project.
Have a great day!!

Heel
Here we are with the stitch holders connected and with close up of the stitches on them.
I knit across slipping the first stitch onto the stitch holder then turn and go back across knitting or purling according to which row I am on and the pattern that I want.
That is as far as I have gotten at this time. I will post as I get further along in the knitting.
So back to knitting for me!
Have a great day!!

Heel
Hi!!
Here we are preparing to do the heels. I have my stitch holders out and ready. The first two and the last two stitches of each heel are placed on the stitch holders as I knit across the socks.
The pair of socks on the left look longer than the pair on the right but when I tried them on my feet they were the same length. That is good because I don't know what I would have done if I couldn't do all the heels at the same time.
Have a great day!!

Deer
Hi!!
We have deer in the neighborhood this morning! We have lived here 17 years and this is the first time we have seen any deer in the neighborhood. They were sparing and all having a great time. I went out on my screened porch and took these pictures. Hunting season opened a couple of days ago. I Wonder if they came in town for protection.

Hi!!
Well I have about an inch to go before turning the heel on these.
I also went out and cut my Parsley and got the Sweet Potatoes out of the planter that I was growing them in. I got a bucket full of them. Some of them are way bigger than I expected them to be.

Knitting
Ah!! Finally!!
The picture came through!
Here are the two pair of socks on two circular needles. One pair looks fatter than the other but the other one is softer and stretchier. I can't wait to get to the heels and see how they are going to work out.

Knitting, Gardening
Hi!!
I got my Tofutsies socks done. So now I only have 2 projects OTN. Should I call my new socks the Green Tomato socks? :) I also went out and picked green tomatoes from the garden. I must have picked 50 pounds of them. There are some still out there. So today I plan on taking bowls and grandkids out to pick the little grape tomatoes. They really like to eat the grape tomatoes so I think they will have fun.
Have a great day!!
